Monday at the Louvre

Jane stayed in Paris with us for the day on Monday and we made our way over to the Louvre. Larry and I had been to the Louvre when we lived in Europe,[74-78] but had not seen the addition of the new pyramid. There is something totally incongruous with this glass modern structure in the middle of the ancient architecture that is the Louvre. Having said that, as an entrance and source of light to the lobby below, it is both efficient and illuminating.

Once inside you again are overwhelmed with not only the beauty and scope of the art work, but the beauty of the physical building and the care and maintenance that is given to this national treasure. See for yourself
