Big News

Early in January, The Professor and I will be Grandparents! Congratulations to Jane and Michael, lest anyone think it's Gordon and Rach!!:) We've been sitting on this for quite a while, but the news broke today and we couldn't be more delighted.

What do you think we should be called?? Tonight, the consensus was "Gamma" and undecided about "Professor" or "Sir" :)

Yes Irenka, this time it IS a stork! :) Perhaps that Heron WAS a sign. Spooky.

  2. I don't know about Gamma, Gordon is right its sound the child has a speech issue. How about something in french" Momair," I'm sure this is misspelled, but it sounds so nice.

  11. Congratulations Leslie! If you were Polish you would be Babcia and the Professor would be Dziadzio. You will be entering a whole new world of shopping - before you look at anything for yourself, you browse through the baby department and realize that you need a whole new income to satisfy the craving to purchase all the nice "stuff" for children. This is the best part of your life - Enjoy! Once again, congratulations to you and your family! Babcia Alice

P.S. My little ones, Stephanie and Logan are coming over this afternoon and I am getting ready for them.

  14. Congratulations to all of you, most of all to Jane and Michael for their procreation skills. Being Italian, I am partial to Nonna and Nonno but any designation will be wonderful when uttered by the tiny babe.

  17. Jane this is for you...when your Mom learned the news and called your Dad, he and I were in the basement inside the butterfly exhibit (with lots of butterfly's flying all around us), at the Museum of Natural History in NY. His phone didn't work at all, and mine, barely. So, I handed him my phone, not knowing what the call was about, but watching his face go from normal to melt down in the course of seconds. It was an unforgettable moment and I knew exactly what was being said before anyone told me. It was a wonderful moment to share and the prelude to many more for the new family, and then there were 3.
