Cheesy

I'm thinking cheese boxes. Tomorrow I will sand my Balderson box to perfection.

Hopefully our instructor will be willing to fashion something a little more funky than the traditional tuffet.

  1. Are you actually going to be able to put weight on it, or will it be purely decorative?

  2. We have a design in mind that will cover the entire cheese box and make it into a rather sizable footstool. Irene wants to put the round feet on, but that will make mine too tall, so I'll have to forgo the neat feet and hope for a removable top that will allow storage within.

  3. Well I got some feet on Ottawa street on Saturday, now I'll have to paint them funky like. I also look around for some fabric, but I think I might leave that decision to see what we will be willing to learn.

  4. P.S. I'm still unsure of doing something with these boxes, I think the antique road show guys would not approve.

  5. The Professor just spent the day sanding and staining my box for me. I had a horrible allergic reaction to the wood and the probable mould and so my Prince jumped in, in the name of "helping wives with their hobbies":) We saw some of these boxes finished, stained and highly glossed at the Christie Antique thing selling between $65-$100. They are really "cheesy" wood, so only sentimental value I'm sure.
