All The.....

I recently read about this fabulous illustrator in The Toronto Star. This is quite a disciplined undertaking which you can really appreciate if you've ever tried to attempt a personal project of producing/completing something every day. Rigorous work.

An attempt to draw all the buildings in New York by James Gulliver Hancock, an illustrator originally from Australia currently based in Brooklyn, New York.

This current obsession adds to the "All The list"...All the Scooters in Rome, All the rooftops in Paris, All the snow in Montreal, All the mountains in Switzerland...
Think we're seeing a true overachiever in James!

Have a look at his blog where he posts a new building each day...I've added it to my sidebar. I stand in awe and admiration.

I also want the pillow case.

Seal Lullaby by Rudyard Kipling

Oh! Hush thee, my baby, the night is behind us,
And black are the waters that sparkled so green.
The moon, o’er the combers, looks downward to find us,
At rest in the hollows that rustle between.

Where billow meets billow, then soft be thy pillow,
Oh weary wee flipperling, curl at thy ease!
The storm shall not wake thee, nor shark overtake thee,
Asleep in the arms of the slow swinging seas.

Last Night of the Proms

The Proms, more formally known as The BBC Proms, or The Henry Wood Promenade Concerts presented by the BBC, is an eight-week summer season of daily orchestral classical music concerts and other events held annually, predominantly in the Royal Albert Hall in London.

Prom is short for promenade concert, a term which originally referred to outdoor concerts in London's pleasure gardens, where the audience was free to stroll around while the orchestra was playing.

The last night of the proms is in September, in London, but if you happen to be anywhere near Toronto today or tomorrow, I'm sure, this being the Queen's Diamond Jubilee year, it will be a rousing time all around!

A few of his favourite things

A rather extravagant gift, but add it to the birthday and keeps him from borrowing mine

Really enjoyed this movie. It got tepid reviews, but anyone over 50 will relate on so many levels. Not to be missed this summer.

Always hear about "Pimms" only just tried it at a spectacular Diamond Jubilee Tea last week (thanks Marsh). Another, NOT TO BE MISSED THIS SUMMER idea. It is a gin based aperatif. What can be bad about that with a splash of lemonade and lots of ice?

You might want to use one of your favourite pitchers to make up a batch of Pimms.

Add a romantic Charles Darwin rose of the David Austen variety and you have a swell day.

On to the wedding

Yes those are real hay bales

The romantic lanterns hung from the tree under which the ceremony will take place swinging in the light breeze

But where will I sit?

There is still something stuck in my dress!

Mummy will fix it ...let's get this dress underneath your legs

I have a much better idea...standing up and marching with this fabulous parasol!

There did come a time when the photographer had to sit down, and by the way, I did remember to bring 2 pashmina shawls that fixed those hay bales. Zia Giovanna, the dress was perfect for a country wedding, with a parasol!

The Friendly Carousel

Is that a carousel I see at the Children's Zoo!?

All the animals are smiling and look quite happy!

Remember running to get the animal you most wanted to ride on?

Mamère! I got him! The one I most wanted...he goes up and down

He's the wildest animal here! Papi says we're fine.

What's taking so long??? Let's get going!

Now we're roaring! I LOVE this ride. Can we go again?? and again???

There is much more to do my sweet...let's go see those goats!
