Cold weather cooking

"Yes Helen, there is a 2013 Milk Calendar."

That's the good news. The bad news is that we did miss it, and they are now apparently out of stock due to heavy demand.

This was the recipe that sparked the conversation. The 1981 version of Leek and Mushroom soup. I love the tureen as much as the concoction within. This is what we had for dinner last night and will happily finish tonight. It has sherry in it. How civilized.

More good news. There is now a link to the calendar, that contains not only the recipes, but also a video of the preparation.

This is the SOUP recipe.

Now the perennial question. Do you have to wait for the recipe that is coming up months later, or can you make the May recipe in January? :) I'm going back to December myself. Those scones look amazing!

  1. Well aren't you just on top of things! How smart of you to look into this further. Tonight will be the perfect night to finish off that delicious soup...no prep and very little clean up. Perfect! Thanks for the link.
