It was a snap

Last weekend, Helen and I popped into The Workroom and fashioned little snap purses. Since both of her children live "downtown" now, we are becoming quite adept at taking subways and frequently find ourselves exploring various new (for us) neighbourhoods.

This project seemed perfect for stowing our subway tickets/tokens and various bits of change. The longest part of the exercise was selecting the fabric. Of course we had to have the same, and with so much to choose from, it was not a "snap" decision.

We were going to put our darker fabrics outside for the clean factor, but couldn't resist the winsome prints, so reversed the order. Now that we no longer have 'pennies' to hunt for, I'm sure all the silver will show up on the red background.

Great use for bits and pieces of fabric. Must keep at it before we forget the technique.

  1. I was going to say that you know that I chose all the fabric combinations, but alas, that would be quite an exaggeration. Perhaps you haven't noticed but the real truth is that you have such a well-trained eye and excellent fashion sense, that when you suggest something, my usual retort is "Ah, that's exactly what I was going to pick!". And, the decision is made. Thanks for a great experience Leslie. As usual, these little excursions are always lots of fun and it's wonderful to learn something new in the sewing department.
