We had to use our Hilton Honor's Points before they expired the end of August, so chose a little 3 day jaunt to The Big Apple.
The Hotel was located 2 blocks south of Central Park on West 57th. Pretty nice location. Right next door to the Directors Guild of America and just up the street from Carnegie Hall.
Carnegie hall is a wonderful building
Look Up! Look waaaaaay up!
Love the juxtaposition of the old and new side by side
Spotted a MacKenzie-Childs shop on the way, so took a little stroll while waiting for our check-in
Always bright and colourful
Also spotted on the corner, a little bistro "Rue 57", that looked so charming. We stopped and had a Bellini for me and a Beer for the Professor with the most amazing frites and popcorn shrimp to dip. Now that's a NYC snack!
Looking up and down street from our 15th. floor balcony. Never a dull moment.
Not feeling too much like dinner after a 3 p.m. snack, we decided to skip the meal and find the ultimate NYC cheesecake. Couldn't help but check out the Minus 5 bar in the other Hilton. This is where you don a fur coat and hat and drink vodka. We decided despite the heat in the city that this was something we could do all winter at home in our own backyard so passed on the experience.
This guy had us in stitches as we checked things out. Quite the character, knew EVERYTHING about sports...especially baseball. Go Jays!:)
The Ultimate NYC Cheesecake. A meal in itself. The end of Day One! Junior's
